From I-40 west in Winston-Salem, exit right onto U.S. 421 north (I-40 Exit 188) toward Wilkesboro. Travel approximately 27 miles on U.S. 421 north. Exit right onto I-77 north (U. S. 421 Exit 264) toward Elkin. Travel approximately 10 miles on I-77 north. Exit left onto U.S. 21 north (I-77 Exit 83) toward Sparta. Travel 10.7 miles on U.S. 21 north. Turn left onto Traphill Road, State Road 1002. (Look for the Stone Mountain State Park sign.)Travel 5.0 miles on Traphill Road. Take U.S. 421 south out of Boone. Take the N.C. 268 exit (U.S. 421 Exit 286B) at Wilkesboro. Turn left onto N.C. 268 east.Follow the signs for N.C. 268 east through several turns in Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro. Approximately 3.0 miles past the Bojangles in North Wilkesboro, turn left at the traffic signal for Airport Road. Travel 4.1 miles on Airport Road until it ends at a stop sign. Turn left.Travel 9.6 miles on Traphill Road. Traphill Elementary School will be on your right.
