About BMCC and the W. Kerr Scott Trail System
|
The Brushy Mountain Cyclists Club is the club for all cyclists in Northwest North Carolina. We're mountain bikers and road riders of all ages and abilities who love the challenge posed by the rugged and scenic terrain of the Blue Ridge foothills. BMCC promotes cycling in Northwest North Carolina through rides, meetings, trail building and special events.
Some of the best mountain biking in the Blue Ridge can be found along the scenic shores of W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir near Wilkesboro. The lake is home to over 20 miles of multi-user trail, with more under construction.
The BMCC Trail Crew has worked closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to develop this first-rate network of trails. Trails are built according to standards from IMBA, the International Mountain Bicycling Association. Click here for more information on our trail building efforts and how you can help.
Warrior Creek is the newest addition to the Kerr Scott Trail System and winds around the Warrior Creek Campground. The campground is situated in a heavily wooded area along the Yadkin River, headwaters of the reservoir. BMCC has plans to continue building at this location through 2010.
